Florida ranks high in virtual education

Florida has been cited as the nation’s leader in learning opportunities for students, just not in physical classrooms.

Consumer website CardHub has ranked the state tops in the number of online schools. Those include the state-run Florida Virtual School, as well as programs run by individual districts and charter schools.

The report looked at plenty of other data from states and districts, including graduation rates, class size and safety. But neither Florida, nor any of its districts, placed high enough to rank in those categories.
